Heat Treatment

Small batch Heat treatment can be carried out in house, either on components or billet material, so as to achieve the correct mechanical condition. Common heat treatments carried out in-house include the following.

B7 to B7M
L7 to L7M
Nimonic 80 Double aging
Inconel 718, Solution annealing.
Grade 12.9 tempering to Grade 10.9.

Heat treatment operations are carried out, in a calibrated furnace, to documented, approved and controlled procedures, supported by validated control plans as proof of completion.

If required, local UKAS approved laboratories are used to verify material condition after completion of heat treatment operations.

Larger components or material billets can be sub-contracted to specialised companies, who offer the full range of complex or multi-stage heat treatment, backed up by full testing/certification facilities.

Surface Treatment

A wide range of surface treatments can be accommodated, to national, international or customer requirements, these would be carried out by approved sub-contractors, with testing and certification being provided to customer requirements.

Processes include the following:

Xylen/PTFE.
Zinc electro-plating and passivation.
Electroless Nickel plating.
Painting/Powder coating.
Phosphating
Anodising.
Nitriding.
Galvanising.
Induction hardening.
Copper, Nickel and Chrome plating.
Chemical blacking.
